Hot water, on a fraction of the power
Heat pump hot water uses the warmth already in the air instead of making heat from scratch — and it runs beautifully on your solar.
Traditional hot water is quietly expensive
Hot water is one of the biggest single users of electricity in most homes, and an old electric or gas system keeps heating whether you need the water or not.
A heat pump works differently. Instead of generating heat, it moves heat that's already in the air into your water tank — the same principle as a fridge, running in reverse.
Because it moves heat rather than making it, a heat pump uses considerably less electricity than a conventional electric element to deliver the same hot water.
Heat that's already there, moved into your tank
1. It draws in air
A fan pulls in the surrounding air, which carries warmth even on a cool Northern NSW morning.
2. A refrigerant absorbs the heat
That warmth is transferred into a refrigerant, then compressed — which concentrates it into useful heat.
3. Your water heats up
The heat passes into the tank. You get the same hot showers, using a fraction of the electricity an element would draw.
4. Run it on your solar
Set it to heat in the middle of the day and it runs on the power your roof is already making.
The natural partner for solar
Your panels generate most of their power in the middle of the day — which is exactly when a heat pump can be told to run.
Instead of exporting that power for a small feed-in credit, you can put it into your hot water and use it that evening. It's one of the simplest ways to get more value out of a system you already own.
If you're adding a battery too, we'll look at the whole picture and tell you where your money works hardest.
Now is a good time to go solar
Solar is an eligible upgrade under the NSW Government Home Energy Saver program. Eligible homeowners can borrow up to $15,000 at 0% interest, with no fees and up to 10 years to repay.
Your eligible rebates are applied first, then the loan can help cover the remaining cost up to your approved amount. You can use it for solar, or combine solar and battery storage under the same loan.
3 steps, keep it simple.
1. Talk with our experts
We'll look at your electricity bill and your property. Then we'll recommend a system that makes sense for you and provide a proposal.
2. We take care of the installation
We handle the paperwork and approvals, then our local SAA-accredited team installs your system. We'll book a day that works for you and keep you updated along the way.
3. We make sure you start saving
Once your system is up and running, we'll help you find the right electricity plan and make sure you understand how to get the most out of your solar and battery. That's the difference between simply installing a system and being your energy partner.
Solar questions
How big a solar system do I need?
It depends on your electricity use and your property. We'll look at your electricity bill and recommend a system that makes sense for your home.
Is solar still worth it if feed-in tariffs are low?
The real value of solar is in using the electricity you generate yourself. The more solar power you use at home, the less electricity you need to buy from the grid. Adding a battery can help you use even more of your own solar after the sun goes down.
Can I add a battery later?
Yes. If you're not ready for a battery now, we can design your solar system so battery storage can be added later.
Who installs my solar?
Our own local SAA-accredited team handles your installation across Northern NSW.
Can I use the 0% interest loan for solar?
Yes. Solar is an eligible upgrade under the Home Energy Saver program. Eligible homeowners can borrow up to $15,000 at 0% interest, with up to 10 years to repay.
